C.A.R releases new EP on Ransom Note

The EP is described as “playful, machine-driven and dark”.

This the first new material to emerge from Raunet under her C.A.R. moniker since last year’s triumphant and critically acclaimed PINNED album – her first outing on Ransom Note Records. Growing with confidence and maturity with every release, her output continues to expand in both ambition and depth, exploring the outer reaches of left of centre pop

Speaking about the EP Raunet remarks “When everything feels like it’s falling with the leaves, you’re still dancing in the wind.”

Titled “Pressure Drop” the EP features two originals and one remix from Suzanne Kraft. The American producer reworks the bare bones of the lead track and reimagines the stems in a rugged, slow moving dancefloor focussed groove which is perfect for the early hours and those that should have gone home.

Adi Toohey joins Orchid

We’re happy to welcome Adi Toohey to the Orchid roster!

As a DJ on the forefront of Sydney’s underground scene she has made quite a name for herself; throwing parties with the Rimbombo crew, working in record stores, and presenting her Saturday Sunset show on FBi community radio for over half a decade, all the while enticing dancefloors with her unassuming style.

She delivered a new mix for ZeeZout this week, blending colourful soul and vocal house gems from the early 90’s ease into killer italo-disco before giving way to break-beats and deeper grooves.

Listen to the mix via the link in bio and get in touch about availabilities, we are working on a run of European shows in May and June 2020!
