MARINA TRENCH
French producer and DJ Marina Trench continues to shine brightly as one of the deep house underground’s most intriguing and unmissable musical talents. Having carved out a deserved reputation as a selector with impeccable taste, Marina is blessed with an innate ability to expertly move oceans of crowds at clubs and festivals the world over.
Her productions on go-to labels including Wolf Music Recordings, Deeply Rooted and Dam Swindle’s Heist Recordings, have helped put her cultured, elegant and mature sound firmly on the radars of the most discerning of taste-makers. Her star is well and truly on the rise.
In October 2021, Marina launched her Sweet State imprint with her ‘Free Mind EP.’ Remixes came from other female forces to be reckoned with, CINTHIE and Anna Wall. In 2022 Marina released her new EP ‘Imperméable en été’ again on her Sweet State imprint: 3 originals cuts, ranging from new disco – the colourful opener Ose, co-composed and performed with fellow Parisian producer Hugo LX, to classicHouse Music – the club oriented L’orage, via some pop infused downtempo vibes – the heartfelt ballad Hirondelle. With these three new compositions, Marina’s musical versatility shone through with these releases, blowing fresh air in her own musical galaxy.
In 2023 she is back with a series of impressive remixes of the recently released ‘Imperméable en été EP.’ Kicking the remix EP off is one of the most legendary artists of our time, Gerd Janson. With his instantly recognisable touch, he delivers an ever so classy version of ‘Ose ft. Hugo Lx’. Then comes a remix of ‘L’Orage’ by the immensely talented Earl Jefferson. His deep and down groove lead style sits at the crossroads of afro and UK house. Earl perfectly reworks the track for the club and introspective moments alike, submerging the listener into his colourful and vibrant world of deep house. Tatyana Jane’s brilliant work rounds off the trio. The emerging talent from France makes a solid mark with her production skill once again through her re-rub of Hirondelle, bringing a whole new vibe that blends influences of breakbeat to techno to afro-futurism.
